The Directorate of Skill Development J&K organized a counselling cum placement drive for the pass out students of Polytechnic colleges of Kashmir Division J&K on Saturday 17th October 2020 hosted by Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar. Thirty two (32) Organizations were present in the campus for the drive while four (04) companies conducted interactions with online mode. One Hundred & Twenty (120) pass out students were placed in different companies out of 400 pass outs who participated in the event. The event was thrown open by the Worthy principal Secretary to Govt. Skill Development Department, J&K, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon IAS) .The Director skill development J&K, Mr. Sajad Hussain Ganai, Director JKEDI, Dr. G.N Dar and Principals' of Polytechnics of Kashmir Division also graced the event. The worthy Principal Secretary in his inaugural speech emphasised on nurturing entrepreneurial skills in the students and impressed upon representatives of various organizations to instil confidence in the fresher’s by giving them a chance to prove their talents by working in their organizations. He also encouraged a group  girl entrepreneurs  of Govt .Polytechnic for women who are presently undergoing in-house training at Women's entrepreneurial cell of JK EDI  .He also interacted with all the representatives of companies who were present in the event .

About 400 students benefited from the placement cum counselling session conducted by various organizations including J&KEDI and MSME, J&K.

The event was concluded by vote of thanks by the Principal, Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar Ms. Shafquat Ara.
